Damages Associated with Basement Water Problems

Moisture moving through a foundation to the inside of the basement usually progresses in stages.

At Dynasty Remodeling we have the methods and solutions to fix your leaky or wet basement.

As the water penetrates from the outside of walls and under floors, signs of water damage begin to appear inside. These usually include but are not limited to:

As the water problem continues to progress, water actually begins to seep into the basement. The weakest point, or the easiest access point, is where the walls and floor meet.  Cracks in the floor and walls, or any path of least resistance. This is where you begin to see small streams or puddles forming on the floor, or water dribbling from cracks or holes.

Finally, if no action is taken to solve the problem, many different types of damage can occur.  Walls can become unstable.  Mold can begin to grow on stored items, furniture, walls, floors, and floor joists.  Moisture and water can cause hotwater tanks, appliances, tools, and support posts to rust. Walls and floors can deteriorate.

Wet or Leaky basements can be very stressful they keep you up at night.  You worry about it when your at work or on vacation whenever it rains or snow melts you wonder if your going to come home to a flooded or water damaged basement.  Rooms or, areas of rooms, become unusable. Property values are reduced as much as 15% or more!
